On 28 June, we held a meeting at Sea Mills Library to kickstart discussions about the future of our Community Centre, closed since 2019. Tim Huntley from the council’s Housing Delivery Team outlined a proposal to turn the site into a mixed-use development of affordable housing and community space, inviting initial feedback from local residents. Over 60 people attended the meeting, making clear that there is a strong need for a community building that is fit for purpose, with many questioning whether the existing building could be brought back into use. As a group, Sea Mills and Coombe Dingle Together will explore both options – if you would like to support us in shaping future plans, please get in touch to volunteer or sign up for our newsletter (see bottom of post). You can also have your say in an online survey on our website or leave comments at the library (deadline 1 October).
